My Day, My Impact.

The American Red Cross mobilizes people to help their neighbors—across the street, across the country, and across the world.

Each day the Red Cross:
  • -Helps 185 families who lost everything in a disaster.
  • -Provides urgent disaster assistance to 14,000 people outside the U.S.
  • -Connects 422 men and women who serve in the U.S. armed forces with their families back home.
  • -Gives 21,000 people blood from Red Cross donors.
  • -Trains 41,000 people in Red Cross health, safety and preparedness that can help save a life.

CALL TO ACTION: Share your Impact.

Our vital work is made possible by people like you, and this 10.10.10 we ask you to tell your Red Cross story. Tell the world about the impact you are making. Use THIS SIGN or create your own and label it with a word or two that tells the world who you are by impacting the world with the Red Cross. Footage that you create will potentially be used in a feature film, as well as a short film created specifically for the Red Cross, and will live in perpetuity in One Day on Earth's global archive.

Guidelines

  1. Identify a word or two that is a description of how you define your impact within the Red Cross. For example: Blood, Support, Relief, etc. Be creative!
  2. Write your impact word on a sign that you can hold while being filmed.
  3. Find a unique location that you have impacted and tell us your name and Impact word on video while holding the sign towards camera.
  4. Increase your impact by taking things further. Use the day to document, with video, how you support the Red Cross: giving blood, volunteering, working on the front lines. Show us your daily impact with the Red Cross, so that we can showcase it to the world.
  5. When you upload your video please be sure to tag it to the American Red Cross.
