The World's Story is Yours to Tell

Oxfam

A doctor when you need one. Going to school. Medicines you can afford. Not much to ask, you might think. Yet millions of people are going without these basic things, every single day. And the price? Preventable illness, early death, and generations unable to read a book or sign their name.

Oxfam is an international confederation of 14 organizations working together in 99 countries and with partners and allies around the world to find lasting solutions to poverty and injustice.

We believe that good healthcare and basic schooling are rights, not luxuries. Yet more than 72 million children in the developing world don't go to school, and millions of people get low quality health care, or are forced to go without it altogether.

CALL TO ACTION:

Tell us why health
and education matter!

Health and education are critical for beating global poverty. Oxfam is working hard to get basic healthcare and basic education for all who need it, and you can help! On 10/10/10, Oxfam asks you to reflect on the issues of health and education in your own life and identify why these are your and EVERYONE'S fundamental rights.

Guidelines

  1. Consider education and health care in your own life. How are you thriving? How are you neglected? How is access, or lack of access, to health care and education affecting your community?
  2. Answer any or all of these questions on camera.
  3. Feel free to take things further. Consider investigating these sectors in your community. Seek out images and interview individuals related to the topic of health and education.
  4. When you upload your video please be sure to tag it "Oxfam".
To collaborate beforehand join the Oxfam group.
