  • One Day in The Twin Cities

Khmer's Next Generation will be documenting the Khmerican/Khmer/Cambodian Refugee/Immigrant experience, memories and stories of growing up in the Twin Cities on Saturday, April 26, 2014 for One Day in the Twin Cities Project.

"1985. HERstory of being a child born into refugee status of genocide and war. Parents meeting and falling in love during a time of death, starvation and hate. Growing up with an unconditionally loving father who was granted "emergency" citizenship after his colleagues, students, and friends rallied around him because he was dying from Leukemia. He died on August 1, 1987. I could have been amongst ...my brothers and sisters who have been deported due to my "criminal" activities in the 90s BUT I was NATURALIZED and never even knew the risks of being my skin color and "status"."
I will fight to bring the stories of humanity to your eyes, ears and heARTS.

I am glad you are willing to investigate and answer questions about this city -- Is there anything in particular you wish to explore and document on 4/26? Feel free to contact me if you have any questions either through the One Day On Earth website or through the Facebook page. Also, join the Facebook page, if you haven't already, and feel free to post any thoughts or ideas.
