Special thank you to a few of our media partners for covering the One Day on Earth Project in the LRGV. We are extremely appreciative of your support and time to help promote this project in our area. Featured: Rio Grande Guardian online feature, The Brownsville Herald, The SPI/PI Press)
This morning I joined our community in the 11th Annual Cesar Chavez March for Immigration Reform. "Up, Up With Education! Down, Down with Deportation," was amongst the many chants that were shouted down our mile long hike through the city of San Juan. Many of the non-profit organizations that work with residents of the colonias and other low income areas in the RGV were present along with community leaders, members and undocumented workers. After the march, stories of need and hope were shared with everyone gathered around the LUPE pavilion. Much thanks to all those I spoke with today and are encouraging of the ODOE project. We hope to do our best to document the issues, needs and unique living situations our migrant workers face in the RGV. #changeourfuture #reformimmigration
