Profile Spotlight: Chitwood Media

WELCOME TO NORTH / documentary film from Chitwood Media on Vimeo.

Who are you and what is your profession?

Josh Chitwood and Morgan Jensen are a soon-to-be married couple who live in North Minneapolis and operate a freelance business, called Chitwood Media, that provides services in film, design and photo.

Can you tell us a little about your background and upbringing?

Josh and Morgan grew up as third culture kids. Josh's parents moved from Indianapolis to a small town in Illinois for ministry, while Morgan's parents moved from small towns in Minnesota and Iowa to Minneapolis for ministry. Both Josh and Morgan have had exposure to many different cultural contexts and have found a passion for people and their stories.

What inspired you to become a filmmaker?

Josh grew up with a love for creating visual art. Starting with comic books, wallpapers and home videos, Josh has now advanced to professionally creating films and designs, with a special interest in documentary filmmaking. Morgan has always had a love for art and for people. Collages, photography and mixed media were some of her favorite art forms growing up. However, Morgan's heart for listening to people and their stories became her focus. In 2012, Josh and Morgan met each other and soon became best friends because of their similar interest in culture, art, frugality, adventures and faith. This became the basis of not only their friendship, but of Chitwood Media as well. Within two weeks of meeting each other, Josh and Morgan began filming their first documentary together.
