One Day in The Twin Cities

Profile Spotlight: Jeff Stonehouse

Who are you and what is your profession?
I'm a lad originally from Wisconsin and a cinematographer.

Can you tell us a little about your background and upbringing?
I grew up in a loving family in southeastern Wisconsin chasing frogs and turtles, with a lot of freedom to daydream and develop an imagination.

What inspired you to become a filmmaker?
My father was in charge of artists and photographers in a technical department at a tractor manufacturing plant, which gave me access to cameras at a young age. I spent a lot of summers as a boy face down in lakes and ponds with my ping pong ball snorkel and dive mask looking for critters, so naturally Jacques Cousteau was one of my heroes.

Who or what do you most admire?
The spirit of children. They have the ability to effortlessly embrace the magic in the world that nurtures and inspires creativity and joy.

What do you love about the Twin Cities?
The people.

What do you fear most for the Twin Cities?
I don't fear anything for the Twin Cities.

What do you hope for the future of the Twin Cities?
Continued respect for our quality of life through music, the arts, recreation, and environmental protection.
